'NEVER CAN SAY GOODBYE"

Today, on this day, June 25, 2009, not only myself, but the world, has suffered greatly at the loss of not only just and entertainer but an ICON. The death of Michael Joseph Jackson has come as a major shock to us all.

As a young child, my favorite musical artist had always been Michael Jackson. Although I was born in 1985, three years after the release of "Thriller" and two years before the release of "Bad", Michael Jackson was the prominant musical fixture in my young life. Growing up all I knew was the Jackson 5, the Jacksons and most prominantly, Michael Jackson. I can remember my parents buying me the Jackson 5 albums to add to my Michael Jackson collection and me singing every song every day of the week. I can remember placing countless posters of Michael Jackson and Michael Jordan on my walls and calling my room the "M.J. Room". I can remember dancing and spending countless hours trying to learn the choreography to every Michael Jackson video that came on the tv. I also spent countless days and nights watching "The Wiz", "Michael Jackson's Moonwalker" and "The Jacksons: An American Dream". To sum it all up, I consider myself a "true" Michael Jackson fan. I can recall my mother buying me the "Beat It" jacket with the zippers and creating my own "Michael Jackson Glove" to pretending I was hiim in concert singing his songs. For some, these may be things that one may be ashamed to say they did when they were young, but for me, it's all truth. Michael Jackson touched my life and so many other's lives through his music. Any special that came on dealing with him, I watched. Anything that was anything dealing with Michael Jackson, I tried my best to be along for the ride. Even after his legal troubles began to surface, I remained a 'ride or die' Michael Jackson fan, unlike those who were quick to jump off an throw stones at the man or those who continued to joke about the things he was going through, his past, his childhood or whatever. None of that mattered to me because the music was what it was about to me. We're all human and have our troubles. With that said, this post doesn't do justice to the way I feel about not only the man, but the ICON, now angel. Michael Jackson has done so much for us and I'm blessed to have had the opportunity to witness greatness at it's best for 24 years. My prayers definately go out to his children and the rest of the Jackson family. Michael, I know you can hear all of our prayers and cries. We love you and will surely miss you, FOREVER!

R.I.P. to the Greatest Musician to Ever Live!

Posted by Mood Music | Posted in | Posted on 6:54 PM

By Ismael AbduSalaam

"NBA star Carmelo Anthony has finalized a joint venture with his imprint Krossover Entertainment and Atlanta-based record label Block Entertainment.

For the last few years, Block Entertainment has been a consistent force in Atlanta’s music scene due to the star power of Yung Joc, Gorilla Zoe, and Boyz N Da Hood.

The joint deal will initially focus on promoting the national debut of Atlanta artist Diego Ca$h.

Locally, the Eastside rapper has been making a name for himself on mixtape collaborations with DJ Drama (Gangsta Grillz), DJ Smallz (Kill Ya Self), and DJ Paperboi (800 Bodies).

With ‘Melo’s roster already including Philadelphia emcee Cassidy, Diego Ca$h feels blessed to come into a label situation surrounded by experienced industry professionals.

“I am privileged to be in a position where I am able to work with such seasoned individuals in the music industry,” Ca$h stated to AllHipHop.com. “I plan to continue to create quality rap music while furthering my brand as a rap artist.”

Carmelo Anthony is aware that many fans don’t take basketball player labels seriously.

With his recent signing and joint label venture, the Denver Nuggets star expects fans to begin recognizing Krossover Entertainment as a legit entity in Hip-Hop music.

“By joining forces with Block Entertainment, I am looking forward to a great business relationship,” Anthony stated to AllHipHop.com. “In addition to long term musical success, this movement will mark new territory in not only the Atlanta market but all over the country as well.”

Diego Ca$h’s latest mixtape, 800 Bodies, is available at http://www.krossoverent.com/. "

NEWS: Update - LAPD Identify Shooter of Rapper "Dolla"

Written by: Chris D

"Today, the LAPD has identified the man that allegedly shot and killed Roderick Anthony Burton II, a rapper known as “Dolla.” The man arrested is named Aubrey Louis Berry. Dolla died Monday after a shooting at 3 p.m. at the Beverly Center Mall in Los Angeles. The accused shooter was arrested at the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) as he tried to board a plane. Berry is being held on a million dollar bail, and the police are searching for another suspect, who fled the crime scene in a silver Mercedes-Benz SUV. Apparently, Dolla was shot in the head as he and another rapper, D.J. Shabbazz waited for their car in a valet parking area. Dolla, who was signed to fellow rapper Akon’s Konvict music label, was a noted up-and-comer on the national charts. His song “Who Da F*ck Is That” was a hit last year on the radio and in the clubs. Dolla’s shooting should not be confused with another shooting in March – where the rapper Dollar Bill died. Anthony “Dollar Bill” Levy was shot and killed by Miami police after a standoff in the attic of a house. He had barricaded himself with a bulletproof vest and a great deal of ammunition. The SWAT team was called in and Dollar Bill was shot when he allegedly tried to stab one of the police officers with a knife. Before his death, Dollar Bill was wanted on several charges, including aggravated assault, firearm possession on school property, and kidnapping. Rest in peace, brothers."

LOS ANGELES — Rapper Dolla was fatally shot near a valet stand outside a mall after a dispute with another man Monday afternoon, his publicist said.
Dolla, whose real name is Roderick Anthony Burton II, was shot in the head at the Beverly Center near West Hollywood and Beverly Hills, publicist Sue Vannasing told the Los Angeles Times. Police and coroner's officials have not confirmed the victim's identity.
An armed man was detained at the Los Angeles International Airport for questioning two hours after the shooting, police said.
Vannasing said Burton and another rapper, D.J. Shabbazz, were waiting at the valet stand after a shopping trip when a gunman opened fire on the Atlanta-based rapper.
Police Officer Karen Reyner said the victim and the gunman had been arguing before the gunman attacked and fled in a silver Mercedes-Benz.
Burton worked on the soundtrack for the 2006 dance film "Step Up" and recently released two singles with the singer Akon: "Like This" and "She So Fine."

NEWS: T.I. To Report To Arkansas Prison On May 26

Rapper sentenced to spend a year and a day behind bars at the low-security facility.
(By Jayson Rodriguez)

T.I. will report to an Arkansas federal prison on May 26 to begin his one-year-and-one-day jail sentence for felony weapons charges, it was revealed Friday (May 15).
According to The Associated Press, paperwork filed in court shows that the rapper has until noon that day to report to the Forrest City low-security federal prison. T.I.'s lawyers had attempted to place their client in a location closer to his Atlanta home, to no avail.
In May, T.I. was sentenced to prison by a judge after his plea deal was accepted. As part of the plea, T.I. had to complete 1,000 hours of community service before sentencing, pay a $100,000 fine and agree to complete another 500 hours of community service after his time behind bars.
His sentence is the result of his October 2007 arrest for illegally attempting to purchase firearms. T.I. is a convicted felon and it is not permissible by law for him to own any guns.
Following his sentencing in March, Tip said he's happy to be moving on and taking the steps to reach the next chapter in his life.
"Although I am not thrilled about my next year and a day, I am pleased that I am beginning the process of putting this all behind me," he said during a press conference inside the courthouse. "Thank you and I apologize to my family, to the young men, young women that I mentor. I hope that I can keep at least one, if not a million or more, from going down a similar path. I just want to say thank you."
T.I.'s label, Atlantic Records, had no comment at press time.

Jermaine Dupri: Ocean's 7 and continuing to get it in!

Posted by Mood Music | Posted in | Posted on 1:21 AM

Since I can remember, I've been a big fan of hip-hop, music in general, and since I was young, there's always been one producer I've always considered to a top of the list ranking among the greatest in the game. You may say I'm biased because I, myself, was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia... That may be the case, but despite that, I've always thought Jermaine "JD" Dupri was one of the greatest in this thing we call music. You can't hate the man for getting it in throughout the years and he still continues to go strong and remain innovative. From Kriss Kross to Xscape to Bow Wow to Jagged Edge to Usher, or whomever he works with, Jermaine makes hits and you can't argue with the numbers and the facts at all. With that being said, I just wanted to post the new Ocean's 7 video "So Much Swagg" Feat. Bow Wow (who by the way killed it too) that JD officially premiered today on his website Global14.com and an additional video from JD's youtube of him in the studio just being creative, and giving you some insight to how he goes about making the hits. Hope ya'll check 'em out. Hip-Hop at work!

Well, today I was browsing around on the net during some down time in the studio, and I fucks with Jermaind Dupri so, during my surf, I spotted a pic of the the Vans “Rock N Roll Over” pack on Global14.com. A few minutes later, while still browsing different sites, I came across the Louis Vuitton Kanye West sneakers also. When it comes to kicks, I fucks with all types of styles and brands, so I figured since I couldn't come to a decision on which kicks I would chose as the "Pick of the Day", I decided to post both. Feel free to leave your comments on what your choice would
be. (P.S. I'm fucking with the Vans hi-tops harder the slip-ons. Don't get me wrong though, they go hard too lol).

"For Fall 2009, Vans and KISS get together for the third time in recent years. Entitled “Rock N Roll Over” Pack, the sneakers and apparel feature artwork from the 1976 album of the band, carrying the same name. The pack consists of the Sk8 Hi and the Slip-On. Along with the sneakers there will be some t-shirts, as well as denim. The Vans x KISS Fall 2009 “Rock N Roll Over” Pack will be released in June."

When it comes to the Louis Vuitton x Kanye West's, I'm pretty much diggin' every colorway that's shown. As long as you have the right fit to match they color and style of the shoe, you can make it work. This collection is scheduled to be released in June at Louis Vuitton stores worldwide.

NEWS: Yung Joc is taking Block ENT & Bad Boy to Court.

Posted by Mood Music | Posted in | Posted on 10:20 AM

I got a phone call from rapper Block Entertainment’s Yung Joc late last night. It seems the ATL rapper, who’s raked in millions for Bad Boy and Block Ent, has had his fill in dealing with shady busness practices of the music industry, particuarly Big Block. And came to me to air out his gripes.
Shady business deals, missing budgets, and now rumors of company financial hardships - Yung Joc reached out to Gyantunplugged.com to share his side of the story.
Block Entertainment’s number one artist has been noticeably absent from the roster for at least a year. There have been industry whispers going around that their was inner turmoil inside the record label, particuarly between Joc and Block. A couple of weeks ago the newest rumor was that Joc was leaving Block Entertainment all together and had decided to make the full move over to Bad Boy records. But it looks like Harv and them over at Bad Boy records is playing games with easy going MC and now Joc’s taking everybody to court.
Joc alleges that due to contractual situations, unpaid royalties and unpaid advances the young business mogul and is legal team is currently in the process of taking legal action against his record label.
The multi-platinum rap star alleges that Block Ent/Bad Boy hasn’t offered any label support since 2007. Yung Joc went on to make shocking claims about the inner dealings of Block Ent.

To start this thing off, I figured I'd post a very inspirational quote by the man, Michael Jordan, himself. I find this quote to be important because it not only pretains to sports in particular, but in life. Whatever you want to do, whatever you want to be, work at it and focus on your own expectations. With that said, here goes.. Hope ya'll enjoy!

"If you're trying to achieve, there will be roadblocks. I've had them; everybody has had them. But obstacles don't have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don't turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it."
- Michael Jordan
